Community led forest protection
The GACF case study demonstrates a success story of community led forest protection in Chapheyappaly in Nayagarh district of Orissa in East India.

Chadheyapalli is unique in its local surroundings because of its community forest management initiatives, benefit sharing processes and community development activities. The main reasons for community led forest protection were lack of full wood, lack of house hold requirements, land degradation, drought and lack of fodder.
