Strengthening organisations in Mexico
The IFFA case study is reporting from a project that contributes to the reduction of poverty in rural forested areas in Mexico.
Published: 9.July, 2011
Government programs have been inadequate to build up sufficient capacity among the forest communities and forest owners to manage their forest resources sustainably, and to generate forest-based employment and income. The project aims to strengthen the organizational structure and capacity of the national forest owners’ organization as well as its capacity to offer adequate services to forest owners. The project will strengthen organizations at local, state and national levels through developing management and information systems, tools for planning, monitoring and evaluation, and training at local, state and national levels.
