Peter deMarsh IFFA chair

Peter deMarsh, Canada, was elected as new chair of IFFA during the IFFA annual meeting in Graz 11th October 2011.

Peter deMarsh, Canada, was elected new IFFA chair after Lea Jylhä, Finland

The annual meeting of the International Family Forestry Alliance was held in conjunction with the Forest Economic Conference, The Austrofoma exhibition and the G3 planning meeting.

In the annual meeting Lennart Ackzell, Sweden, was elected new vice chair after Peter deMarsh. Lea Jylhä, Finland, and Natalie Hufnagl-Jovy, Germany, had wished to step down from their positions in the Board and Janne Näräkkä, Finland, and Lorenz Freiherr Klein von Wisenberg, Germany, were elected new board members. Warwick Ragg, Australia, and Liz Sandler, USA, where reelected as board members and Bob Simpson was reelected as honorary treasurer.

Jan Søndergaard, Denmark, Tony Rotherham, Canada, and Felix Montecuccoli, Austria, were reelected as IFFA Nomination Committee.

 
Natalie Hufnagl-Jovy was thanked for her long service for IFFA and her work as Board member

During the annual meeting the last year’s annual meeting minutes, the Chair’s report and the economic report were approved. The membership fee for 2012 was set to the same amount as last year, 400 Euros for members and 200 Euros for Associate members. The IFFA work plan 2011-2013 was discussed and approved and Canada proposed as the venue for the IFFA annual meeting next year.

The minutes from the 2011 IFFA Annual meeting will be posted as soon as they are finalised.
