The meeting started at the 17-hundreds botanist Carl Linnaeus birthplace and the field visit continued with historic overview of land use, forest service and legislation and the Family Forest Popular Movement in general and Södra Family Forest Association in particular. Visits were made at forest owners, nursery, thinning operation, sawmill and bio energy driven central heating plant.
The dialogue and its breakout groups focused to build on the Swedish experience of building strong family forest cooperatives and general respect and trust from market and authorities/government. Many factors were inspiring but evidently every country has its own context to apply and develop locally controlled forestry.
